Love this song but it sounds like My Heart Belongs To U by Jodeci
I was about to say the same thing…this 2nd song has a similar melody to Jodeci’s “My Heart Belongs To U ” even has similar instrumentation down to the songs fade out. Good ears on your part!
There was no need for the 2nd song real.People only listen to the first one because its a classic.
I really do think Dru Hill is paying homage to Jodeci bc there was a beef a while back between Sysqo and KCi but in so many words Sysco said he looked up to KCi and imitation is definitely the best form of flattery. I mean if you listen to Sysqo he’s used KCi’s riffs and the whole 9. Sysqo said that guys like him owe it to KCi for openeing the door for raspy non-polished singers.
where Dru Hill differed from Jodeci they did somber songs such as this, Jodeci was all about freaky deeky even their one said song Cry For You was a freaky deeky style song, and Sisqo has a purer voice than K-Ci but yea they pay homage 2 Jodeci look inside the cover of Dru World Order Nokio is wearing a Jodeci shirt, and this song was actually borrowed from “My Heart Belongs To You” they just took it and made it a song about God
Woody made this song to as a tribute to his deceased mother (i.e. My angel)
