not a big fan of the band but this song is smoooth
Its about knowing something good is going to end, but enjoying it for what it is while it lasts.
I interpret it slightly differently but I’m probably totally off. You know the saying “building castles in the air”? As in dreaming of the future? These people are doing the same thing, dreaming (building castles) that reality will wash away, but for now they’re happy just dreaming of the future that will probably never happen. Maybe I just interpret it this way because that’s how I feel about life a lot right now.
I think that’s the best part of art–interpretation is completely up to viewer. So you’re not wrong.
