  1. lol
    nirvana isn’t mainstream
    especially not this fucking album

  2. They knocked Michael Jackson off the #1 spot in the charts with Nevermind, so yeah, they did make punk and alternative music mainstream. In Utero sold 4 million copies and was huge worldwide.

I think it’d be pretty much impossible for someone as real and human as Kurt to reach #1 today and revolutionize music without being part of the corporate music machine.

Just because they were mainstream doesn’t mean they were bad. They’re legendary and still one of my favorite bands.

  3. They made it popular, not mainstream
    theres a difference

  4. ♥Happy 46th Birthday Kurt♥

  5. Dude after Nevermind every mainstream major record label (the ones now pushing shit like Justin Bieber) went into Seattle and signed every grunge band they could find. All of a sudden alternative music dominated mainstream radio stations and mainstream television like MTV. Nirvana opened that door and it was a good thing. But how is that not mainstream? Were you alive in the 90s??

  6. listen to this album again

    You know shit.
I heard about that after watching one of many 9/11 videos.
The t shirt Kurt is wearing was actually self made and it’s of a band called Flipper that he liked and that Krist Novoselic was in at one time.

  8. It’s not mainstream now is it
    IT WAS fair enough
No I wasn’t alive, unless you count being 4 in 2000 alive in the 90′s then no I wasn’t

    I totally agree.

  10. Alt.rock bands were having multi platinum records, doing mtv unplugged, being featured on tv, having big festivals like Lollapallooza and you’re saying that this isn’t mainstream? 90s mainstream music was good.

i think youre ok,in some parts, nirvana and everything they did,is a fucking legend, maybe you can see it in that way, they are different, they are unique, they invented a completely different style, nevermind is just theyre best commercial album,in utero is the one with they’re best songs,if you only have the oportunity to see kurt or nirvana playing alone, you will note they are not only one more band, and you right, they didnt change rock music,or do something great as persons, but are a musical legend

  12. douche755 says:

no one gives a shit and if you agree then u can get out

  13. This is music, not fucking Justin Bieber. Who agrees?

  14. when i was 13 i was completely obsessed with kurt cobain. i’m mostly a drummer i wanted to learned his skills so bad, but i kinda sucked at guitar. so i just stayed on drums. good night
