80's Jazz-Fusion [Em] Jam Track

© 2012 Blue House Don your most questionably-fashionable trousers and practice your altered-dominant super-locrian or diminished licks over this relic from the golden-era of Fusion. Think Larry Carlton, Steely Dan, Frank Gambale, Joe Zawinul, Marcus Miller, Wayne Shorter, Scott Henderson or even Guthrie Govan. But mostly Larry Carlton.

btw you can not chage scala by each chord, for ecample Am7+Gmaj13 = A lydian =G dur, Gmaj + F maj = scala, what consists of the chord nodes , like in Nardis.
    over B alt HM7+b3

  2. cicik57 says:

thats a bad habit to cal b alt like that because people loose guidetones

  3. Yeah you’re right, only just picked up the alt scale – super locrian names even though have been using it for a fair while.

  4. cicik57 says:

btw there are some alternatives to superLocrian – whole tone, half- whole(more alterations = more tension, agression)

    Harmonic Moll 7 + b3 (less alterations)

  5. Yeah, have been having fun with the whole tone scale over non-functioning dominants. Struggling to find cool applications of whole-half and half-whole diminished scales though.

What#s harmonic moll? never heard of that before.

I picked up the guitar a year ago, i’m happy sticking to Em blues to this track. the notes im feeling in this scale are sweet on this track. rolling up and down rifs and throwing in some unision bends and pent rock. Having lots of fun
