…Hace mucho tiempo, demasiado tiempo separados
Ella no podía esperar otro día para
    El capitán de su corazón.
Cuando llegó el día, ella hizo una parada.
Dejó de esperar otro día para
    El capitán de su corazón.

  9. That is no joke..

  10. I remember this one from MTV videos back in the 80′s. My brother drown by the river in ’87. This reminds me of him; I miss MTV but ThankYou YOUTUBE for this!!

I remember hearing this song on cruise liners back in the early 90s. It really fit the cruise liner setting due to it having the name “The Captain of Her Heart”. Ironically, I heard this song for the first time on Disney/Premiere Cruises. Now I have images of Ariel and Eric dancing whenever I hear this song.

    Probably because it’s about suicide.

Does music, or music videos, get any better than this? I think not.

  14. fenceposter says:

    Umm, no.
“The Captain of Her Heart” is a single for the Swiss duo Double in 1986. Taken from their 1985 album Blue, the song is a ballad about a girl waiting in vain for her absent lover to return.

  15. Bill Gibson says:

I never realized that these two songs weren’t tied together. Yes. I thought she had finally found the strength to let go, and go on with her life.

  16. this is such an achingly haunting song. memories can be so bittersweet. i relive the summer of 86′ the best summer of my life, every time i listen to captain of her heart. it was so different from the other 80s music being played on the radio then that it stood out then. i was 13 and met my best friend every saturday. we’d spend the day at her grandma’s and walk to the town square and eat lunch at the new wendy’s in town and we promised we’d be best friends forever. still think about you penny.
