   How many are semi-auto’s? Unless your boss falls into the special class, he had to turn those in with the rest of Aus.

   Without the governments permission, you are not allowed to own handguns of any type. Pump-action and semi-auto anything is also banned from possession, except under special circumstances. Therefore, Australia has banned guns. Quit equivocating.

   You’re stuck on stupid, aren’t you? Once again, the BoR are not laws.

   If you want to change the 2nd amendment, then you’re going to have get the 28th passed.

   Also, by your thinking, the 1st amendment is outdated, so maybe we should get rid of free speech, too.

   Today, when a crime occurs, there are no police around. That is why there is a need for guns for self defense.

   Depends how you look at it, minus Alaska, Australia is bigger than the US. One of the biggest states in America is Texas and probably the state that is most similar here is Western Australia, though its twice as big. It was funny though, George Bush said Australia was like Texas (based on the plane trip), then Robbin Williams said Australia was full of rednecks, then Kevin Rudd said that rednecks were from Alabama, then the governor of Alabama said he was offended by the generalisation.

   TYRANNY MAY NEVER HAPPEN IN OUR LIFETIME, and we can give up our guns because there is no need to “fight the government” at the present,  but we must not give up our rights now, or perhaps our kids or grand kids will face tyranny… and they will definitely curse at our graves for selling the future’s freedom. Losing freedom is easier than regaining it!

    I have seen many rifles in Aus, all were bolt action. I’ve only ever seen handguns in gun ranges.

    The purpose of having guns ONCE AGAIN isn’t for SPORTING or HUNTING… It’s for keeping a tyrannical government from taking power.

    Part of our military strategy in Iraq - and something that was supported by the Iran-backed Shiite government – were the disarming of Sunni militias in Baghdad and other parts of the country.

    Also, I should mention that America ISN’T Scandinavia, it ISN’T Japan… we don’t necessarily WANT to be like Scandinavia or Japan. We also have 300 million people.
