It was no dream; for I lay broad awaking…
One had to listen, there would be no faking…

I was very fortunate to meet Percy Heath back in the 90′s. A really cool cat. MJQ was in town for a concert at a jazz festival. I bumped into him on the street when he was out running around seeing different performers playing at different stages. We talked for about 20 minutes. I blew it though… I didn’t know after the show he was looking for me to hang out. I had heard he went to some local clubs and jammed till the wee hours. I could kick myself every time I think of it.

  4. Beautiful album !

Gracias. Ana

Mania? For hierarchy? I didn’t say -or imply- they do everything better than Loussier’s group, nor did I say -or imply- that I consider them better musicians overall.

I said one group of musicians did a particular thing better than another.
Absolutely everything done by humans is done much better by some than by others. There’s simply no way around that, and pretending otherwise benefits no one.
