   Wonderful actress… However, vocals suck! Orchestra cannot compensate for weak, unsupported vocal production.

   We are so used to singers who can only perform a song by singing as loudly as possible (Whitney Houston, Beyoncé Knowles, etc.) that when someone with a lighter voice and style sings, it is beyond the comprehension of some people. There is a long tradition of great vocalists who were not belters — Julie London, Juliet Greco, June Christie, Peggy Lee to mention but a few. Those who think this a poor performance are the limited ones, not Michelle Dockery. It is subtle and beautiful.

   Dan Steven’s wife Susie is a Jazz singer too.  Have Susie and Michelle ever met? I want to see Michelle sing in Season 4 of Downton.

   Why doesn’t Michelle put out a CD? OMG! I think Julian Fellowes is going to hook Mary up with a new boyfriend who plays piano, and Mary will come out of mourning singing a duet with her new man Lord Anthony.

   Agreed. I like Michelle Dockery, but her voice is not that amazing. She’s still a great actress though!
