Bill Evans Trio – The Jazz Set 1972

(Sorry for the bad sound and the subtitles) Bill Evans and his trio appear on a TV jazz show hosted by Chris Albertson. Between performances the pianist is interviewed by the host. Bill Evans – Piano Eddie Gomez – Bass Marty Morell – Drums (I do not own the rights to this)

listeners like to categorize, so they have something to say….players analyse to emulate the moods instead of just copying…

Despite this american well spread belief, the world does not speak english… although a lot of foreigners seem to write a much better english that a lot of anglophones… Moreover, american music hasn’t conquered the whole world and there is still room for other cultures.

The Japanese during the 80s had a big thing for Jazz especially Piano and Swing genres. Artists such as Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis were pretty popular. As such my guess is that the Japanese TV shows brought in the US programs to air on their TV channels.

  11. Jazz was incredibly popular in Japan in 1960-1980 this probably aired on Japanese television. (Most of my records dating to this time have Japanese somewhere on them; usually, where they played. and recording information.)
