Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades, and experienced a sudden resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. 4. Jazz in many ways comes from the blues or inspired by. One can’t really separate them. Almost like father and son. Peace

I agree after all it is all music…but there are certain sounds that are very distinct and say sounds by all the Kings is a case in point.

  6. I hear you, i guess the meaning of Jazz is personal opinion. Some people and even some great musicians like to keep Jazz in in a box – you know, keep it “traditional”.

Then you get someone like Miles Davis, arguably the greatest Jazz icon of all time who said for eg. “You don’t define Jazz. Jazz is just like an attitude…”

Well said….for some one like Miles Davis, a born talent, it probably is one of his attitudes…as even blues would be. By definition all categories are boxes…and traditional!
