hey guys! This is great! i just have a stupid question: How this be Cannonbal´s group if he didn´t wrote any of the tunes? maybe because “he got” the tv gigg=? Not even comparing myself to theese fellas: I only mean.. can i get a band with talented great persons and not compose , maybe make musical arengments or get the gigg?
i hope i was clear enough.

It’s Cannonball’s Quintet for different reasons. First of all he is the biggest name of these six musicians, that makes it only natural that the band is named after him. Then, he probably choose these particular individualities because he wanted the band to sound a certain way. And as seen in this video, he is the leader of the band, that means he has the final word in most of the decisions made, even in the choice of what tunes are played (at least I really think so).

  3. He could have produced a lot… I guess that’s the most logical assumption I can make….
